Welcome to the Intermediate-level course! This course is designed for chess players who have a good grasp of the game and are ready to take their skills to the next level. In this course, you’ll explore more complex tactics such as windmill, decoy and deflection, creating a double attack, positional play and strategic planning. You’ll also delve into various opening systems and learn how to create a solid defence plan. By the end of this course, you’ll have a strong foundation in chess and be prepared to face stronger opponents with confidence.

This course is suitable for players with a good knowledge of the game and have had some playing experience either online or over the table at clubs or tournaments. At the end of course, players will be provided a detailed assessment report along with a completion certificate.

Chess engines are a powerful tool to help you analyse and improve your game play. You can use it for analysis, tactical training, opening preparation, positional understanding, endgame study and game practise.
AlphaZero, Leela Chess Zero, Stockfish are some of the top chess engines. Stockfish is particularly popular since it is built on open source framework. Remember, while using a chess engine can be beneficial, it's important to balance it with human analysis and understanding.
To analyze your completed games using a chess engine. Load the game (copy paste moves or upload PGN) into the engine and review the critical positions and moves. Pay attention to the engine's evaluations and suggested alternatives. This helps identify mistakes, missed opportunities, and areas for improvement.
